Among the works in realistic style, their authors', by the way, also expressioninistic paintings are the best accomplished. Ove Büttner's sensitive colouring and virtuosity in mastering the glazing technique are perhaps not so much decisive in his case as his highly exquisite generalisation in realistic representation of figures that, however, leaves spontaneous impression. The ironical-pathetic titles give Ove Büttner's works additional dimension : "The Muse Grants the Artist Immortality", "Falling Down Like the Golden Rain". /.../
